New graduates on board at Arup
Arup, the engineering and design consultancy, has welcomed a record 36 new graduates and 10 apprentices to its Midlands campus.
It is the largest number of graduates and apprentices welcomed by the firm in the last decade.
This year’s bumper intake of new recruits, totalling 46 engineers and specialists, joined the firm as part of its annual graduate intake.
The new graduates and apprentices will be working across a variety of high profile projects both locally and nationally.
Key clients in region include HS2 Ltd, Highways England and Birmingham City Council.
Following the new graduate appointments, the firm’s Midlands office in Blythe Valley Park in Solihull now exceeds 700.
Livvy Cropper, graduate consultant, said, “I’m pleased that a global firm like Arup has an office in Solihull as it means that I’m able to progress with next stage of my career without having to relocate to a new city.
“It can be daunting to start a new job so it’s great to joining at the same time as 35 other people, and the Graduate Induction Week is a great way to get to know each other!”
Mark Jones, Arup director, said: "The graduate scheme is vital to our strategic growth and it’s great to see so many technically gifted people joining Arup.
“Their creativity, enthusiasm, and wealth of ideas will benefit both our clients and their fellow colleagues.
“They have the opportunity to develop long and successful careers with Arup, representing the next generation of forward thinking consultants and engineers in the region.
“On behalf of the Midlands leadership, we wish them all every success for their future careers.”
Arup was named in the 2016 UK’s top 100 undergraduate employers list, which was revealed in The Times Higher Education supplement.
