Advertising Agents in Bromsgrove
Midlands marketing agency Gough Bailey Wright has organised a Christmas food drive in aid of local charity, The Basement Project.
The Bromsgrove-based agency handed a huge box of goods over to Amy Harbon and Jackie Hooper of the charity, which provides a drop in centre and floating support for local young people who are either homeless or facing homelessness.
The month-long food drive resulted in an array of tinned goods, long-life products and Christmas goodies donated by staff and clients.
These will be used by the charity in its ongoing efforts to make life a little easier for those aged 16 to 25 who are facing potential homelessness.
The Basement Project offers outreach support and organises workshops aiming to improve life skills, such as anger management, budgeting and coping with domestic abuse for young people around North Worcestershire.
Sue Bailey, managing director of Gough Bailey Wright, said: “Our local newspaper reported only recently that Bromsgrove is in the top 20 of homelessness hotspots nationwide.
“The work that The Basement Project undertakes is incredibly important in supporting young people and I sincerely hope that our food drive will help to make a difference this Christmas.”
Jackie Hooper of the Basement Project added: “Christmas makes the problem of homelessness in this region more visible and it’s during this time of year that we welcome help from the public the most.
“This year we’ll be handing out festive hampers working with Newstarts Recycling project and so far we’ve had a staggering 120 requests, so all donations are gratefully received. “We’d like to thank Gough Bailey Wright for their wonderful support.”
