Hotels in Birmingham
Birmingham hotels Malmaison and Hotel du Vin have become official corporate partners of blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia. Both will be fundraising throughout Cure Leukaemia’s ‘Just One More’ campaign, which aims to raise £40,000 to fund a specialist research nurse for a year. Both hotels have lined up a number of events, including fancy dress days and a ‘Wear Red Day’. Jackie Kelly, Cure Leukaemia’s head of corporate partnerships, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Malmaison and Hotel du Vin as corporate partners and it is great to have them fronting our ‘Just One More’ campaign this year. “The ethos of ‘Just One More’ is that just £1 from many people can make a big difference and I hope their innovative fundraising ideas encourage other businesses in Birmingham to get involved too. "I’m sure the rivalry will be good-natured and will help boost their fundraising. Every penny raised will go towards funding one of our specialist research nurses for a year.” Malmasion general manager Damian Goom said: “We are proud to support a charity here in Birmingham that is helping lead the fight against blood cancer, a cause that is close to my heart.” Hotel du Vin general manager Tony Elvin said: “Birmingham should be proud to have a charity like Cure Leukaemia on its doorstep and Hotel du Vin is proud to be raising funds this September and beyond. "I also have a personal connection with leukaemia and knowing that the funds we raise will directly help patients is very inspirational.”
